UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: Lt Gen Narinder Pal Singh Hira has taken over as the Chief of Staff of Headquarter Northern Command. Commissioned into Sikh Light Infantry in 1978, the General Officer has a rich experience in Western and Eastern Theatre and also in counter insurgency both in J&K and North East.
He commanded the Infantry Battalion in Assam, Brigade in Uri, Division in Akhnoor and Corps in Jalandhar. He has held many instructional and staff appointments in schools of Instruction and Headquarters. The General Officer has done all prestigious professional courses.
The General is conferred with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Sena Medal (SM).
