Lt Gen Singh reviews security preparedness

JAMMU, July 12: Lieutenant General KJ Singh, the Western Army Commander today visited the troops engaged in the security of border areas in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.
During the visit, the Army Commanders took stock of the security apparatus in the sensitive areas and complimented the troops in successfully maintaining a high state of vigil especially during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The Army Commander reviewed the deployment in the entire Jammu region and expressed his satisfaction with the concerted efforts being made by all the security agencies to enhance the levels of preparedness. He interacted with the rank and file in the forward locations and appreciated their relentless efforts in maintaining round the clock alertness in the border areas.
The Army Commander also interacted with senior officials of the Air Force, CRPF and BSF. During the interaction, he emphasised on the necessity of enhancing the security efforts considering the sensitivities arising on account of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
He exhorted all agencies to ensure that there is no untoward incident especially during the Yatra. He also stressed on the requirement to further refine the coordinated response of the security forces against possible terrorist strikes.
Lt Gen KJ Singh, during the course of his visit, was accompanied by other senior Military Commanders.
