JAMMU, Nov 23: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha released a Book ‘Ramayana -The Eternal Journey’ authored by Jawahar Pandit, at Raj Bhawan here, today.
The Lt Governor conveyed his best wishes to the author Jawahar Pandit on the occasion.
Talking to Excelsior later Jawahar Pandit said Ramayana- The Eternal Journey is a new and refreshing presentation of the Ramayana which has hit the literary circles now.
There will be hardly any Hindu across the globe, who is not aware of the magnificence of this grand piece of literature, originally written by Maharishi Valmiki. Since then the Ramayana has been portrayed in different forms, like the traditional, religious, Ram Leela, plays, poetry, TV shows, movies, and in the form of books, he said.
However taking a different view Jawhar links Ramayana with Adyatmik life (spirituality). For him the characters in Ramayana like Lord Ram, Sita, Laxman, Bharat, Shutargun, Raja Dashrat, Kousela, Keki, Smitra, Lord Hanuman and Jamwant including demon King Rawan, his brother, Kumbkaran and son Megnath are within every human being.
Jawhar said from his point of view, Ramayana’s Universal message is that humanity should not be divided on basis of religion. The Sanatan Dharma believes in unity of human beings and all the saints and Avtars have come to unite people and spread message of peace and universal brotherhood.
The book is of 280 pages and it’s forward has been written by Ravi Pandit. The digital version of book is also available in the market.
Jawahar gives credit to his parents of choosing the subject. Belonging from a spiritually elated family, Jawhar’s grandmother Nirmala Pandit commonly known as Mumai Ji was an Adyatmik Guru while his mother Girja Kaul/Pandit is also an enlightened soul and a prolific bhajan singer. His maternal grandfather, Janki Nath Koul was also a spiritually enlightened sole which became a binding force for young Jawahar to turn to writing of books on spirituality.
