JAMMU, Aug 26: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 20.650 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka near Manda and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 20.650 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Raju Singh, son of Gurbaksh Singh and Kulvinder Singh, son of Tarsem Singh of Jagraon Ludhiana.
A case under FIR Number 127/18 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City GL Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
