JAMMU, Feb 29: Assailing PDP and BJP for creating political turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference leader and former MLA, Bimla Luthra today said the opportunistic alliance has put its vested interest over and above the public interest.
“In its 10 month misrule the duo remained mired in controversies because of their sinister agenda instead of being seen governing the State”, Luthra said while interacting with women workers at Kotli Miyan Fateh and Jayida villages in RS Pura.
She said initiative taken by Omar Abdullah led Government for women empowerments during six years tenure were put into back burner, as the insensitive Government hugely suffered from performance inertia.
She said women empowerment received priority attention during NC led Governments in the State, which is discernible by enviable headway made in promoting female literacy, providing opportunities in jobs and involving them in decision making.
The former MLA said that NC alone is capable of meeting challenges confronted to the State because of its deep roots in all the three regions.
