AKHNOOR, Nov 14: Seeking vote and support for Sham Lal Sharma, veteran Congress leader and former MP, Madan Lal Sharma addressed a series of public meetings at Maniwala Ward Number 6,7 , Jourian Ward Number 4,5, Chak Bhagwana and Kali Bari in Akhnoor Assembly constituency.
Stating that development was the only poll plank of the Congress and people must judge the scenario on ground, he said that during the last 12 years massive development in all vital sectors has taken place and this has been acknowledged by the people themselves. Mr Sharma said that he as well as Sham Lal Sharma have been tested by the people in past and it was an established fact that during their tenure in power they left no stone unturned for the over all development of Akhnoor in particular and State in general without any discrimination of caste, creed, colour, rich and poor .
He said that infrastructure visible almost in all sectors including Education, Heath, PHE, PDD, PWD, Irrigation, Flood Control bears testimony to his claims. He further said that Coalition Government in the State has taken some landmark decisions like recommending package for Refugees, introducing of Public Service Guarantee Act, RTI Act, Creating Independent Vigilance Commission, Conducting Panchayat Elections, Empowering PRIs in line with Central Government and creating large number of Administrative units.
Madan Lal appealed the people to vote for Sham Lal Sharma and press the hand button on EVMs on 20th December- 2014 . He cautioned the people against the hollow slogan mongers and communal forces, which play the politics of dividing the communities. Such forces only surface at the time of election and mislead the people by spreading false propaganda, inciting the sentiments of innocents, he alleged and asked people not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of such elements.
