JAMMU, May 29: Humane Jammu, a social service initiative that aims to provide COVID relief assistance to all those requiring medical support during COVID-19 in these challenging times, has worked on building an indigenous Oxygen Flowmeter for patients in need of Oxygen that will be provided free of charge for them in the UT of J&K .
During the pandemic, the large demand for PP kits, sanitisers and masks across the country has seen many entrepreneurs’ setup production under the”Make in India” initiative. However, the second wave of COVID has created a huge supply and demand gap for medical equipment related to Oxygen specifically around medical Oxygen, cylinders, flowmeters and ventilators.
This has led to a proliferation of a huge black market for all these products at massively inflated prices of 3-4x the MRP, that makes these essential medical equipments unavailable to most patients.
Moreover, the Chinese products flooding the market are not reliable and to reduce our reliance on these sub-standard products, we were driven to create our own Swadeshi equipment at this juncture of medical emergency.
Humane Jammu took up the challenge of developing and providing free access to indigenously produced oxygen flowmeters. These flowmeters are an essential apparatus for supplementing oxygen to the patient from the Oxygen cylinder.
Given the technical background of the founders of Humane Jammu, Er. Kiran Wattal and Er. Siddarth Bhat, who joined hands with the other founding members of Humane Jammu, Dr. Gautam Goel, Rajesh Gupta, Prem Sharma, Ashwini Kumar and Pintooji. After days of testing and prototyping, under the highly skilled workmanship of Mahinder Singh, Humane Jammu is pleased to offer “Made in Jammu” flowmeter that it can provide to patients, who need access to Oxygen at home but are unable to source branded flowmeter in the market and it is critically required for the patient for Oxygen supplement.
These patients can avail of the flowmeter under the consultation of doctor and necessary supervision of the paramedical staff. “We appeal to the public to reach out to “Humane Jammu” at www.humanejammu.net for any further assistance”, said the representatives of organisation.
