JAMMU, Sept 20: Quick on the heels of the visit of Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh and BJP national general secretary (Org) Ram Lal to the State, BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K, Ram Madhav is reaching Srinagar tomorrow morning on two days visit of the State to discuss the prevailing political scenario and organizational matters with senior BJP leaders, Ministers and legislators.
According to party sources, Madhav who will reach summer capital tomorrow morning will hold a meeting with office bearers and senior leaders first to ascertain their views on prevailing political situation, functioning of the party and working of BJP Ministers as well as Vice Chairpersons of Corporations and Boards at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh. Madhav will hold detailed deliberations with them on these issues , sources added.
Madhav, who will have a night halt at summer capital, will also meet the party Ministers and take an account of their functioning as well as the progress made on Agenda of Alliance (AoA), the main corner stone of forming coalition between the two parties in 2015.
Sources said the party national general secretary will take feedback on the functioning of BJP Ministers from the party leaders as well Legislators whom he will meet at Srinagar as well as Jammu on his arrival here next day.
The senior party leaders from the State including BJP State general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul is already camping in Srinagar while another general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh will leave for summer capital tomorrow. Both the leaders will brief Madhav about the prevailing situation in the State especially in the backdrop of feedback given by some sister organizations of party to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the working of BJP Ministers in the State during his recent visit to the State.
Madhav is likely to call on Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Governor N N Vohra and also have deliberations with them on the prevailing situation in the State, sources, said, adding, he will discuss the functioning of coalition as well as progress on AoA with Chief Minister also.
Sources said next day the BJP general secretary will visit Jammu and have deliberations with party leaders, senior office bearers, Core Group members and legislators here too. The steps needed to be taken for bettering coordination between coalition partners and within the BJP organization will also be discussed, sources added.
Sources said Madhav will also seek the explanation of the BJP leaders over the misgivings shown by the sister organizations of BJP about the performance of BJP Ministers during their recent meeting with Union Home Minister and the possible steps to be taken by the party on ground level to come to the expectations of the masses who have given the overwhelming support to the party in the Assembly elections of 2014.
Sources said besides Madhav, Ram Lal had already returned after a two days visit of the State after holding marathon meetings with party leaders, Core Group and Ministers. They will submit their report to party national president Amit Shah in New Delhi.
It may be recalled that BJP High Command had deputed three senior party leaders including two general secretaries and one vice president to the State to ascertain the functioning of the coalition as well as Party after the Union Home Minister got a negative impression from various organizations of Jammu including the sister organizations of BJP like VHP during his meeting with different delegations of the people of the State.
Sources said Singh apprised the same to party national chief and other senior leaders. They did not waste a single minute in deputing the senior leaders to the State to take the stock of the situation and submit the detailed report for possible measures to be taken to improve the coordination between the two coalition partners and performance of the Ministers in the State.
