BJP leader on political mission in Srinagar

JAMMU, Aug 27: BJP national general secretary and party’s incharge for UTs of J&K and Ladakh, Ram Madhav who reached summer capital early this morning on two days visit held discussions with senior party leaders from UT on prevailing political and law and order situation soon after his arrival.
According to sources, Madhav who is on a political mission to Kashmir for making ground regarding initiation of political process in the UT during his hectic schedule also met various leaders of political parties in Srinagar and discussed the overall political scenario of UT with them.
Sources said that Madhav met some leaders of political parties and former legislators besides prominent citizens to take a feedback of the political and law and order situation in the aftermath of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A.
It may be recalled that the BJP in its recent Working Committee meeting at Jammu had passed a resolution on the holding of political process and early elections in the UT and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address to the nation at Red Fort New Delhi had also given an indication of holding Assembly elections in the J&K.
Sources said that Madhav informed these leaders that BJP is for holding of political process in J&K and installation of political Government representing the aspirations of both regions of the UT by holding early elections and in this regard appropriate steps will be taken in near future.
Sources said Madhav met senior BJP leaders at Srinagar and also discussed the party affairs with them especially the situation created after the increased attacks and killing of some BJP leaders and other political activists by the terrorists in Kashmir valley.
Sources said he discussed the security measures for political leaders needed to be taken for their as well as the safety of their families living in Kashmir valley in view of the increasing terrorist attacks.
While reviewing the security of the party men in Valley, Madhav stressed on strengthening the same to ensure their safety and security, sources said, adding that the party general secretary will also take up the issue of the security of the political leaders who are facing threat of terrorists with J&K Government and lay strong emphasis on revival of the same.
Sources said the BJP leader has also urged the party leadership to intimate the Valley based activists to refrain from taking risks and follow the party guidelines in this regard strictly.
Madhav after reviewing the situation in the Valley will provide his feed back to party president, JP Nadda and other senior leaders at Delhi.
Sources said that Madhav will hold main and crucial meeting with senior party leaders and district presidents of BJP in Kashmir tomorrow and seek the feed back from them on both security scenario as well as the prevailing political situation.
The party leaders of the Valley who have shown concern on deteriorating security situation in last some months in which there were increased terrorist attacks on BJP leaders will demand fool proof security be provided to them and their families besides accommodations in security areas.
The BJP leaders whom Ram Madhav met today among others included party general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul other two general secretaries Vibodh Gupta and Sunil Sharma and party vice president Sofi Yousf.
Earlier Kaul and other two general secretaries of the party flew to Srinagar in the morning. Sources said the BJP leaders are likely to meet Governor, Manoj Sinha tomorrow and discuss the various issues including the security issue of the political leaders with him.
