Addressing a meeting of BJP’s Election Management Committee here at party Headquarters, Madhav said the people have totally rejected and isolated those elements adopting path of violence and terrorism. “The violence can’t get the support of the people now as this election has proved it beyond any doubt ”, Madhav added.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, co Incharge J&K BJP, Ashish Sood, BJP president Ravinder Raina, working president, Sat Sharma, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Deputy CMs Dr Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta and BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul besides other senior party leaders and members of election Management Committee.
The BJP leader said it is not the question of who will win or lose the election but the democracy has triumphed. “Whether opposition parties agree it or not but it is a proved fact that Narendra Modi Government deserves full credit for this transformation in Kashmir,” he added.
Madhav said the separatism has no place in scheme of things in Kashmir now and whosoever forms the next Government in the UT has to run the Government by adopting the agenda of nationalism. “There is no denying the fact that the agenda of new Government will be based on nationalism now”, he added.
Moreover the people who had lost faith in democratic structure in erstwhile State due to certain undemocratic actions of previous rulers have now regained their faith in democracy and their confidence has been restored. “Now the democracy in the UT will be to stay and UT will lead on path of progress and prosperity” he added.
He said the overwhelming participation of people in the elections this time has given a good signal not only in J&K and country but all over.
Madhav, while giving full credit to the party for launching the election campaign in an organised and systematic way in the UT said BJP will get good results in this election and party activists are in upbeat mood.
He said it was with the hard-work of the party activists that this time party election manifesto disseminated to the lower level and common masses could know about it.
Addressing the meeting BJP co Incharge J&K Ashish Sood highlighted the unique features of this year’s campaigning by the party. Maintaining that BJP is a party with a difference, he said the party activists and senior leaders worked like a team. He said a family member of a party activist died during campaigning and still he continued to work for the party and did not give up his responsibility. This makes BJP a party with a difference, he added.
During the meeting party also took serious exception to the opt repeated statements made by some leaders of opposition parties that BJP is going to nominate five of its leaders on reserved seats to be filled through Lt Governor.
It said during NC, Congress and PDP rule earlier these parties right from 1996 nominated their party leaders against the two Assembly seats reserved for women candidates.
The meeting said in the ninth Assembly in 1996, NC nominated Bimla Luthra and Begum Zubaida Salaria as MLAs while in 10th Assembly in 2002 Congress and PDP coalition nominated Khem Lata Wakhloo and Shanti Devi, both political activists of the respective parties as MLAs.
BJP said in 11th Legislative Assembly in the year 2008, NC and Congress coalition nominated Bimla Luthra and Indu Pawar as MLAs and both of them were the political activities of their respective parties. Besides, in 2014 also during PDP -BJP Government two women activists Priya Sethi and Anjum Fazli were nominated as MLAs.
The BJP urged the opposition parties to restrain from making the misleading statements in this regard as the precedence has already been set by them.
