Madni asks Govt to ensure supply of ration, other commodities on Maha Shivratri

JAMMU, Feb 22: Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni today appealed the Government to ensure supply of ration and other commodities to Kashmiri migrants on the occasion of Maha Shivratri especially in migrant camps like Jagti, Buta Nagar, Muthi, Nagrota and Purkhoo besides other non camp migrant localities.
He also demanded that pay to Government employees be released one day in advance of Maha Shivratri festival.
Another PDP leader from district Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather has also demanded that ration and other essential commodities be made available on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. He expressed concern over shortage of ration in migrant camps and alleged that though holy festival of Pandits is just four days away and not to talk of supplying additional one kg of sugar as was a precedence, earlier on the occasion of festivals, the Government has not made the supply of ration available till date.
Meanwhile displaced Pandits from Devsar Constituency in a meeting at Jagti township under the chairmanship of P K Sharma senior leader of the Party constituted a Committee which was approved by Mr Madni, MLA Devsar and Ramesh Kaul chairman PDP Migrant Committee.
The meeting appointed Ravinder Kumar Raina as president, Vinod Wali as general secretary, Vinod Kumar Raina as secretary and Sushil Kumar Bhat as publicity secretary. Roshan Lal Tickoo, Opinder Kumar Bhat, Roop Krishan Raina, Bushan Lal Kaul, Satish Kumar Raina, Surinder Kumar Koul, Avtar Krishan Raina, Mahraj Krishan Raina, Rakesh Kumar Raina, Durga Prassad, Rattan Lal and Badri Nath Dhar were appointed as members.
