Madni for release of relief to migrants with arrears before Shivratri

JAMMU, Feb 20: Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Sartaj Madni today demanded immediate release of relief arrears in favour of Kashmiri migrants.
Talking to various delegations of migrants from his Devsar Constituency here today, Mr Madni said that migrants are facing many hardships in the present hard days and it is very difficult for relief holders to make their both ends meet as prices have touched sky.
He said in view of Maha Shivratri festival falling of March 9, the Government should make all efforts in releasing the arrears as well as relief for the month of February in the last week of this month. Besides he demanded that additional quota of sugar be provided on the eve of Maha Shivratri festival.
He urged the Government to look into the day to day problems of the migrants and frame a concrete policy on their honourable and dignified rehabilitation in Valley instead of making hollow promises.
He also urged the Government to take immediate steps in improving the power supply to Jagti township.
