UDHAMPUR, July 31: Working President of District Congress Committee Udhampur Sumeet Magotra today drew attention towards the inconvenience being faced by the patients at Government Medical College Udhampur.
Addressing a press conference, here today, Magotra alleged that patients are made to wait for hours to get the registration slip because there is only one counter window for issuance of the same. After that they have to again wait for long time outside the room of concerned doctor for consultation, he added.
Congress leader said that when this hospital was District Hospital, two Pharmacist were deployed in the Emergency Ward but after it becomes GMC, only one Pharmacist has been deputed in the Emergency Ward. “As per media reports, we have come to know that Health Department has given a Spine machine to GMC Udhampur for spinal operations but no post of specialist Doctor has been sanctioned for spinal surgery thus rendering these highly costlier machines unused,” he said .
Magotra also demanded MRI machine at GMC Udhampur and appealed Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to conduct a surprise visit of the hospital to personally access the inconvenience to patients and poor functioning of GMC Udhampur.
