Magotra alleges poor health facilities in Udhampur hospital

JAMMU, Aug 8: Senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra has alleged poor health facilities in District Hospital, Udhampur.
Addressing a Press conference at Udhampur town today Magotra disclosed that CT Scan machine of District Hospital Udhampur was not in working condition due to some technical snag for the last three months and last week it was repaired but it is again lying out of order for the last three days. He alleged that there seems to be some internal conspiracy which needs inquiry by Director Health Services Jammu.
He further disclosed that digital X-Ray machine is also out of order for the last many months resulting patients are bound to go to private clinics and facing inconvenience but District Hospital Administration has shut its eyes and authorities concerned did not bother about inconvenience of poor patients.
Congress leader further expressed that District Hospital, Udhampur is a important hospital of Jammu province because it covers Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts besides various tehsils and Sub Divisions of Udhampur, which is part of Jammu Province. This hospital is hardly two kilometers away from National Highway from all sides and covers any sort of emergency, Magotra added.
He demanded creation of posts of Cardiologist, Neurologist and Nephrologist in District Hospital Udhampur. He also demanded smooth functioning of Dialysis Unit of the Hospital. Magotra further disclosed that in coming days he along with Congress activists would hold demonstration against Member Parliament Dr Jatinder Singh during his visit at Udhampur for not taking seriously the issues of District Hospital, Udhampur being the MP of the area.
