JAMMU, Sept 11: The Maha Jayanti of great Shiv Yogini, Mata Lalleshwari was celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits across the globe with great enthusiasm and religious fervour today.
It was divine Global appeal where the community members across the globe are collectively celebrating Shiv Yogini Mata Lalleshwari’s birthday during this entire week (8th-15th). Her pious birthday was celebrated with Havans, recitation of Vakhs, songs, painting competitions, online sessions today.
Almost every KP family prepared the `Taher’ in their houses across the globe and they recited a Vakh in her memory and celebrated the day by congratulating each other on this pious occasion.
The organisers said the idea behind celebrating the birthday of Mata Lalleshwari collectively across the globe was to create awareness and negate all such narratives which have been unknowingly or deliberately put in place with her place of birth, her Vakhs and her spiritual journey.
Mata Lalleshwari was born as Shiv Yogini in Pampore area of Kashmir and has influenced every Kashmiri family since all these seven centuries with her Vakhs which are more relevant today considering the religious divide and other conflicts in the world.
Scholars who threw light on this great Yogini said correct perspective has to be carried forward as world is ignorant about the rich message to humanity through these Vakhs which is part of our heritage and most of the outside world knows very little about her and our other revered saints and gurus. Time has come when move from ignorance/ darkness towards light should be our endeavour and it has to be rightly passed to our younger and future generations.
Day started with an early Puja at the only place outside Kashmir where a memorial is there for Shiv Yogini Mata Lalleshwari situated at Lal Ded Vatika, Hariparvat Temple Complex, village Anangpur, Faridabad. Entire community spread across the globe right from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, Kolkata to Pune, Japan to US, Europe to Australia assembled either collectively or celebrated the occasion in their homes with Havans and other programmes.
Last Sunday the week long celebrations commenced across the country and many parts in which community members participated in huge numbers.
In Delhi NCR programme was held in Gurugram where speakers spoke about her early life and need of her precious Vakhs in society. Special painting made by Shivani Koul Bhat was released on the occasion which has already reached to hundreds of homes across India.
