JAMMU, Oct 14: Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir, is going to initiate the Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan starting from October 24, 2023, with an aim to highlight the transformative initiatives undertaken by the Modi Government in the Union Territory after the historic abrogation of Article 370.
This was disclosed by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister while chairing a meeting of senior Party functionaries at the BJP Headquarters here, today.
During the meeting, Kavinder Gupta said that the primary objective of the Maha Sampark Abhiyan is to emphasize the significant initiatives taken by the Modi Government following the abrogation of Article 370 from the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said one of the key aspects highlighted during the meeting was the impact of Article 370’s abrogation on various communities. It was recognized that Article 370 had deprived several communities of their due rights. However, the decision to revoke Article 370 brought about a positive transformation. The Modi Government’s actions have provided a dignified life to various communities in the region.
He mentioned that several Central laws related to labor, education, and healthcare, were extended to Jammu and Kashmir, aligning the Union Territory with the rest of the country. The Government conducted successful District Development Council (DDC) elections, allowing local self-governance and attracting investment through summits. Educational reforms, infrastructure development, and employment initiatives were launched to empower the youth and improve overall stability, he added.
Kavinder said these efforts have led to a decline in terrorist incidents and significant economic growth in the Union Territory. “Women’s rights have been promoted through initiatives focusing on land rights and educational opportunities, while educational institutions and infrastructure development have improved access to quality education. Schemes and programmes aimed at empowering the youth and reducing corruption have been implemented,” he said.
