Maha Yagya solemnized at Durga Nag Temple

JAMMU, Oct 6: A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Srinagar city and adjoining areas thronged holy Durga Nag Temple in Kashmir Valley to participate in Maha Yagya which was solemnized on the occasion of Durga Ashtami today and paid obeisance to Goddess Durga there.
The Hawan started yesterday evening and concluded with Puranahuti this afternoon. Bhajan Kirtan was performed in the premises of the Shrine during entire night as well as today. After the Puranahuti the devotees were served with Prashad. The Maha Yagya was performed by Durga Nag Trust led by Vijay Bakaya its president and former Chief Secretary.
He said to keep tradition alive the Trust is solemnizing the Maha Yagya on two Navratras every year at the holy shrine. Later the Trustees also held a meeting under the chairmanship of Bakaya and discussed various issues concerning the trust.
