JAMMU, Oct 27: A Maha Yagya was solemnized of Ishit Devi Bhargswhikha Bagwati in the premises of Martand Suriya Bhawan Paloura here, today.
The Yagya started yesterday evening and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon. This was followed by serving of prashad to devotees.
A large number of devotees thronged the Suriya Bhawan to participate in the Maha Yagya and pay obeisance to Goddess.
The yagya which is celebrated on Ashwani Shukla Navmi every year was performed today due to some unavoidable circumstances. This was stated in a handout issued by Shri Martand Tirath Trust.
The religious sermons were given by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram.
The devotees were served Prashad after Puranahuti. The Hawan was performed by the Trust headed by its president A K Sidha and general secretary Salegram Bawnoo.
