Mahajan Sabha celebrates birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj

JAMMU, Oct 2: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, Shallamar Road, Jammu, today celebrated 149th birth anniversary of Sher-e- Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan at Lala Hans Raj Park, near Sunder Singh Gurudwara Road, Jammu.
Havan puja was held and Vedic Mantras were recited by Sukhdev Shastri, who also explained the meanings and importance of Vedic Mantras.
The function was organized under the chairmanship of Vinod Kumar Gupta, president Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, Shallamar Road, Jammu.
After Havan and puja, statues of Lala Hans Raj were garlanded at Hans Raj Park and Mahajan Sabha Purani Mandi, Jammu by the president and other prominent members of the Mahajan Sabha. A large number of Mahajan community and others attended the impressive function
Vinod Gupta   highlighted the various contributions made by Lala Hans Raj Mahajan who pioneered the formation of various associations of different communities like Rajput Sabha, Mahajan Sabha and Anjuman- I- Islamia. It was recalled that late Hans Raj started a non political secular organization “The Dogra Sadar Sabha “in 1904.
Other speakers also threw light on the achievements and contributions of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan towards the society.
The function was held in presence of  Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Rajesh Gupta (MLA East) ,  Naresh Gupta (MLC) , Advocate  Rattan Lal Gupta (Ex MLC) , Lala Amarnath Gupta (chief patron of Mahajan Sabha), Yougal Mahajan, Sat Pal Langer,  Chander Mohan Gupta (general secretary Central Mahajan Sabha) and  Dinesh Gupta, (Ex Corporator).
Other office bearers like  Yash Paul,  Rattan Hindu,  Om Gupta, Dr  Vimal Gupta,  Romesh Gupta,  Krishan Lal Gupta,  KK Gupta, Bhushan Pargal and Raghbir Gupta also participated. The office bearers of Marriage Bureau Central Mahajan Sabha,  Satish Gupta, Jagdish Gupta, Ved Gupta, Vijay Gupta and Pradeep Gupta also participated.
