JAMMU, Sept 19: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha today held meeting of its new Working Committee under the chairmanship of Romesh Chander Gupta at Mahajan Bhawan Shalamar Road , Jammu today.
The president in his welcome address said that all the members of the new Working Committee are the cream of the Mahajan community and hoped that they would contribute their best to improve the working of the Sabha.
Gupta further pointed out that the new land laws brought by the Government was discriminatory in nature. There is no such restrictions on the community members living in any other State or UT. Many attempts were made by the Mahajan Sabha and even knocked the doors of the Administration of the J&K UT to get the injustice nullified, but failed to get justice.
All the members of the Working Committee resolved to come out on the roads and stage strong demonstration till this discriminatory order is withdrawn by the Government.
Among other agenda items, it was decided to celebrate birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan and Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan as usual. Account of Ist Quarter 2021-22 was also passed with one voice. Another important item of the agenda was to make some amendments in the Constitution of the Sabha to suit the present needs. The house decided that the president of the Sabha may constitute a committee of elite members to propose the required amendments.
The prominent personalities of the Mahajan Committee who graced the occasion included Kavinder Gupta patron (Ex-DyCM), Rattan Lal Gupta (Ex- MLC), Arun Gupta president Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Besides above members, Amar Chand Gupta (Patron), Shiv Pratap Gupta, Om Parkash Gupta (Kaku Shah ), Harinder Gupta (Senior Vice Presidents ), Dr Mohan Lal Gupta and Yash Pal Gupta, Sanjay Mahajan (General Secretary) and others also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present included, Surinder Gupta, PD Gupta (Prabhu Shah), Rajesh Choudhary, CP Gupta, Dr Mohan Lal Gupta, Mukesh Mahajan, Balbir Gupta, Subash Gupta, Yash Paul Gupta (Supdt), Jugal Kishore, Anil Gupta, Parveen Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Vimal Gupta , Satish Gupta, Sudarshan Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Dinesh Gupta (Corporator), Subash Jandyal (Ex-VC) and Kulbushan Gupta.
