KATHUA, July 11: Tension gripped Mahanpur area after the news of sacrilegious act in the Hanuman temple at village Damlad in block Mahanpur spread today. When the news spread the tension gripped the entire Mahanpur block. People including the DDC member Goldy Kumar, Sarpanch Sohan Lal and Kuldeep Kumar assembled at Mahanpur Bazar and blocked the road for one hour.
They were demanding the immediate arrest of culprit behind the criminal act to disturb the peace in this area. They alleged that some anti social elements are active in this peaceful area to disturb the peace and create enmity between both the communities. The DySP Basholi and SHO Mahanpur rushed to the spot and assured the stern action against the accused person.
They said that case under FIR No 15/22 under Section 295, 295A and 153A IPC was registered and the police team has been dispatched to various direction to arrest the accused. The protestors lifted the blockage after the assurance of police.
