JAMMU, Nov 17: Chairperson of women club ‘Meri Pehchan’, Sandhya Gupta along with Sunny and Parvinder Singh organized Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman Awards 2023, here today.
The function organized at Amantran Farms, started with recitation of ‘mantras’ by 11 priests who prayed for the well being of the country. Thereafter, a lamp lightning ceremony was performed by the awardees themselves.
Major General (retired) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal and Padma Shri Prof Nirmohi were chief guests of the event while guests of honours were Sohail Qazami, Rohit Shastri, Shalani Khanna, Anil Paba and Jeet Saluja. The celebrity guests present were Amar Sandhu (singer), Rakhi Sapera, Deepak Kapoor and Dr Shivankur Bharti (singer).
Awardees of the function were Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera, Dr Radhika Chopra (Ghazal Singer), Dr Parkash Tata (international spiritual Guru), Narinder Singh Jassal (social activist, Ashok Kumar (President Teacher Awardee), Ali Khan (Actor), Vishal Batra (brother of PVC Captain Vikram Batra), Satyadev Prasad, Vikas Manhas, Surinder Farishta (Actor and comedian), Lokesh Tilakdhari (Actor), Sargam Koushal (Mrs World) and Dr Dazi Parihar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandhya Gupta said that she is organizing the function since 2018 with support of her son Sidhant Gupta, a well known actor. Gupta said that she feels proud while organizing such function on the name of Maharaja Hari Singh and wants to organize such functions outside Jammu also. She appealed to the people to support her for the noble cause.
