Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday celebrated

JAMMU, Sept 21: The celebration of Maharaja Hari Singh’s 117th birthday was celebrated with great pomp and show in various school across Jammu region.
Vidya Peeth Public Higher Secondary School, Chogan Slathian, Jammu, organized a grand hawan in school complex to celebrate the day of his highness wherein a large number of parents and staff members were present.
The Principal of the school Vipan Kumar Sharma, explained the contribution of Maharaja in the field of education, women empowerment and about his nationalistic vision. He was a great visionary and a good administrator.
All members present in the function paid tribute to the Maharaja Hari Singh.
In an another function Maharaja Hari Singh DAV Cent. Public School, Akhnoor  also celebrated the day wherein SDM, Akhnoor was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme started by lighting the lamp and garlanding the portrait of Maharaja Hari Singh by the chief guest.
Principal of the school welcomed the chief guest and threw light on the life and contribution of Maharaja.
A hawan was also orgainsed in which chief guest, school principal, staff, guest, student and parents took part.
The day concluded with rally from the school to main bazaar of Akhnoor town which was flagged off by the chief guest.
