Mahasha Sadar Sabha highlights demands

JAMMU, Oct 5: All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Rattan Chand Krotra, wherein various demands and problems of the Mahasha community were discussed.
While speaking on the occasion, Sabha president said that among SC categories Mahasha community has remained socially and economically very weak and unable to compete with others and therefore needs to be encouraged.
Pointed out that the community has never been given representation in the State Cabinet, he urged the State Government to provide the same and also representation in the State Legislative Council.
Krotra further pointed out that that Police recruitment Board is charging Rs 300 as cost of application form from SC unemployed youths, which is not justified. He appealed the Government to provide free of cost application forms to SC youth.
Observing that the slaughter house existing in front of Shiv Temple and Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji Community Hall at Dogra Hall, Jammu has not been shifted despite repeated requests, he demanded the concerned authorities to shift the same to some other place immediately.
The Sabha president disclosed that the membership drive of the Mahasha community had been started from October 4 and it will last till December 31 this year. He informed that the drive will be conducted by the district presidents of the Sabha and the updated lists of the members will be send to Central body for consolidation in the form of electoral roll and onward submission to the election board headed by SN Dogra.
