Mahashivratri : Elaborate police bandobust at Veereswara Swamy temple to regulate crowds

ELURU (Andhra Pradesh) , Feb 25: Eluru district police are making elaborate police bandobust by deploying sufficient numbers of police personnel to regulate crowds of devotees at the famous Sri Veereswara Swamy temple in Pattiseema on Mahashivaratri day on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police K Pratap Shiva Kishore told the media here on Tuesday that as a large number of devotees are expected to gather at Sri Veereswara Swamy Temple in Pattiseema in Polavaram Mandal to have a darshan of deity on the Maha Shivaratri Day.

He said that he reviewed the security arrangements to ensure smooth and hassle-free darshan for the devotees.

The SP  conducted a briefing session for the deployed personnel, providing them with detailed instructions on their duties and responsibilities.

Kishore emphasized that all personnel should perform their duties in a disciplined manner, ensuring that devotees do not face any inconvenience. He instructed the security staff to treat devotees with respect, maintain proper queue lines, and facilitate an orderly entry into the temple.

The SP also directed the use of drone cameras and CCTV surveillance to monitor crowd movement and take necessary precautions accordingly.

As the water flow in the Godavari River is expected to be heavy, devotees must remain cautious and avoid bathing in unauthorized areas. Holy dip should be taken only at designated locations, he warned the devotees.

Due to the heavy crowd, devotees should stand in proper queues and avoid pushing. Everyone should cooperate with the police personnel to ensure a smooth darshan experience, Kishore said and asked the devotees to take care of their children and personal belongings and  avoid leaving them unattended in unknown areas.

The police department has made special arrangements for crowd management, security, traffic control, and emergency response. Devotees are requested to follow the instructions given by the police personnel and cooperate with them, the SP added.

Joint Collector Dhatri Reddy, along with officials from the Endowments Department, Electricity Department, Irrigation Department, and Revenue Department, personally inspected the necessary precautionary measures at the temple premises today.
