Mahayagya organized at Asthapan Shri Nandkishwar Maharaj

JAMMU, June 8: The ‘Biradari’ of Seer Jagir, Sopore, Kashmir in collaboration with Nandkishwar Asthapan Committee organized a Maha Yagya at Asthapan Shri Nandkishwar Maharaj, near Vishwa Bharti Colony, Akalpur, here today.
Over 5000 devotes drawn from all walks of life, despite sweltering heat and humid conditions attended the ‘yagya’ with enthusiasm and religious fervour.
The yagya was organized under the overall supervision of Asthapan Committee president, Sri Krishan Raina and general secretary, BL Raina.
The ‘yagya’ began with a first ‘suhakar’ here yesterday evening and after the completion of five ‘suhakars’ culminated today with ‘puran ahuti’, followed by a ‘Maha Bhog served among the devotees.
A large number of devotees, otherwise settled in other states of the country also turned up for the special occasion. Some were busy in chanting ‘bhajans’ and ‘kirtans’ which brought blissful feeling to their minds, while others were busy in taking stalls including fruit charts and variety of drinks, helping them quench thirst in scorching weather conditions.
The organizers had made elaborate arrangements for comfort of the people, besides elaborate security and allied arrangements made by the Government.
The yagya among others was also attended by prominent leaders of Kashmiri Pandit Community including Dr Agnishekhar, convener Panun Kashmir and Dr Khema Kaul of Kashmira Vahini.
Meanwhile, the two days annual function of Swami Nand Kishore started at Shiv Mandir Ajit Colony yesterday.
On the occasion, a Mahayagya was also performed in the temple by Shiv Mandir Prabandhak Committee Ajit Colony headed by Bushan Lal Tickoo its president and Badri Nath Jyotshi its convener.
A large number of devotes attended the function and paid obeisance to Swami Nand Kishore Maharaj. The function culminated with Puranahuti today afternoon which was followed by serving of prashad to devotees. The bhajan-kirtan also continued in the temple complex.
