JAMMU, Dec 11: Mahila Congress organized an election meeting in favour of Congress candidates today at Gharana, in border areas of RS Pura.
Meeting was attended by Shobha Oza president All India Mahila Congress, who is on three days election tour of Jammu region & Ms Indu Pawar MLA, president Pardesh Mahila Congress. Ms Shobha said that in order to check & defeat the growth of divisive forces in the country people should vote for Congress as this is the party which has ensured progress of democracy and secularism in country.
She said the promises made by Narendra Modi are hollow and no practical work is being done by the Central Govt on all major issues. This Govt is not able to perform and has taken U-turn on major issues like Black Money, Article 370, Right to Information etc. The BJP Government at the Centre is pushing communal agenda through its Members in the Parliament.
Ms Pawar said that Central Government is not helping people of State, people of border areas who in recent firing by Pakistan had to leave their homes, suffered huge loss of lives and property are looking toward the Central Govt. Recent floods brought havoc in Kashmir as well as Jammu and the victims of flood have yet to receive the help. She appealed voters come in large numbers and vote in favour of Congress.
Others who spoke in the meeting included Prabha Slathia, Distt president Jammu Urban, Suman Choudhary State secretary, Vandana secretary, Ms Reeta State secretary, Geeta & Ashu.
