Mahila Divas celebrated

JAMMU, Apr 12: Mahila Divas was celebrated in the premises of Ved Mandir today by Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti.
The main topic for the discussion on the occasion was how to ensure the security of women in the State. The prominent who took part in the discussion included Dr Raj Kumari, Mrs Sukrati Arya, Mrs Prabha and Mrs Sneh Bali.
During the function the girl children of Balika Niketan sung Sarswati Vandhna and other patriotic songs. The students of Qasim Nagar slum area school practiced Suriya Namaskar on the occasion.
The programme was presided over by Dr Mamta Sharma while ex Prabhari of Bharatiya Yog Sanstha J&K Mahatma Ram Bikshu was the chief guest on the occasion.
The speakers while highlighting the role of women folk in present world said that they have to become stronger and stronger to protect their families and society.
On the occasion Dr Munisha recited a poem on identity of women. The Mahila Samiti also donated some money for the help of a poor woman. The function culminated with recitation of Vandematram.
