RAJOURI, June 23: In view of the COVID19 global pandemic, Mahila Shakti Kendra Rajouri conducted an interaction cum awareness programme via video conferencing with 12 women Sarpanchs of various Blocks of Lamberi, Darhal, Dhangri, Panjgrain, Planger etc of Rajouri district.
During the interactive session, Women Welfare Officer Anam Mirza along with District Co-ordinators, Nazma Sheikh and Sanjana Thakur informed the female Sarpanchs about the declining child sex ratio and its impact, BBBP, Sukanya Samridhi Yojna, women helpline number 181, child helpline number, PC & PNDT Act 1994, various women-centric laws like Dowry Prohibition Act 1961, Indecent Representation of Women Prevention Act 1986, Domestic Violence Act 2005, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013, Ujjawala Scheme, Various scholarships under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Single Girl Child Scheme, various facilities provided by the One-Stop Centre, Rajouri that includes rescue and medical facilities, lodging of FIR, shelter, counselling and facilities like video conferencing etc.
The women Sarpanchs, during the video conferencing, highlighted women related issues and the problems of school dropouts especially in case of girls.
Women Welfare Officer, Rajouri also sought detailed information from women Sarpanchs regarding the welfare activities they are carrying out for the women in their Panchayats.
Replying to the query, the Sarpanchs said that they distributed masks in large numbers and are generating awareness among the people in their area about the preventive measures that can be adopted to avoid the risk of Corona Virus infection.
The MSK team also urged the Sarpanchs to work towards the Swachhta campaign in the areas and take care of the needs while maintaining the SOPs norms.
