Maid arrested for theft, stolen jewellery recovered

UDHAMPUR, July 29: With the arrest of accused, Police Station Rehambal recovered stolen gold/silver ornaments of an Army officer.
Out of the stolen 10 lakh gold jewellery, Police have recovered ornaments worth Rs 8.5 lakh while efforts were on to recover the remaining stolen items.
A case FIR number 211/2023, under section 381 IPC was registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal last month on the written complaint of Lt Col Jatinder Singh, posted at Udhampur who stated that his maid had stolen gold/silver ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh approximately from his house.
The investigation of the case was entrusted to PSI Yogeshwar Manhotra. During the course of investigation, PSI Manhotra under the supervision of SHO Rehambal Inspector Rajesh Sharma, arrested the accused maid namely Kajal Devi and recovered the stolen ornaments, worth Rs 8.5 lakh on her disclosure.
Police said that the efforts were on to recover the rest jewellery, stolen by the accused.
