JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today appealed to neighbouring Pakistan to maintain calm on borders saying bloodshed is in nobody’s interest.
“I want to make an appeal to our neighbour (Pakistan) to stop bloodshed on the borders and maintain peace,” Dr Singh said while addressing a gathering during Golden Jubilee Celebrations of BSF here.
“Stop ceasefire violations on borders,” he said and added that India is forced to retaliate to the cross border firing.
“A dialogue was initiated between two countries but it was unfortunate that Pakistan stepped back,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
He said that India is efficient to reply any act from Pakistan’s side but border tension is in nobody’s interest and benefit.
“Every Indian is ready to sacrifice for the country and Pakistan should not take us for granted,” Dr Singh added. He, however, said that to settle their personal scores, Pakistani Army and ISI has disturbed the peace. “People like Hafiz Saeed and Salahudin are being sheltered.”
“Our security forces successfully foiled all infiltration attempts made from across the border,” he added while paying tributes to the martyred jawans.
