Maize crop damaged due to heavy rain

UDHAMPUR, July 9: BDC Chairperson of block Ghordi, Arti Sharma has appealed the Government to provide adequate compensation to the farmers whose maize crop has been damaged due to heavy rain and unknown disease.
The BDC Chairperson, along with the team of Agriculture Department, visited various areas of the block and took stock of the damage to maize crop. She appealed to all the field officers and employees to visit their respective areas and assess the damage caused to the crop and give better advice to the farmers for the protection of the remaining crop.
She also appealed to the Agriculture Department that the pesticides being provided to the farmers should be given at cheaper rates or free of cost.
