Maize trades higher in thin trade

NEW DELHI, Aug 31:  In thin trade, maize prices rose by Rs 5 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today due to mild demand from retailers.
However, other grains held steady in restricted deals.
Traders said mild demand from retailers helped maize prices to trade higher.
In the national capital,maize rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1,445-1,450 per quintal.
The following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,580-1,585, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,585-1,590 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 850-890 (50 kg), Maida 930-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,010-1,040 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,400-8,500, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 8,400-8,500, Permal raw 2,225-2,275, Permal wand 2,300-2,400, Sela 3,300-3,350 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,925, Bajra 1,270-1,280, Jowar yellow 1,525-1,575, white 2,425-2,625, Maize 1,445-1,450, Barley 1,150-1,155, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
