Maj Gen Jamwal briefs on ex- servicemen rally at Pathankot

JAMMU, Mar 10: The president of J&K Ex-Services League Maj Gen ( Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal today briefed the executive committee of  State and Zila Sainik Board Jammu about the mega ex-servicemen rally held at Mamun Cantt,  Pathankote  and the decisions taken there.
Maj Gen Jamwal  disclosed that the mega rally was attended by nearly 4000 Ex-servicemen/Veer Naris belonging to Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir State.  It was organised by 21 Sub Area under the aegis of 9 Corps,  Lt Gen KJ Singh, GoC-in- C, Western Command, who presided over it.
Maj Gen Jamwal who is president J&K Ex-services League said that he also addressed the grand rally and strongly projected the issues of the ex-servicemen, Vir Naris besides their dependants. On this occasion Commander, Western Army distributed  Rs 40,000 each among 11 ex-servicemen/Veer Naris living under penury. He also  distributed 16 Tri – cycles among the disabled serving/retired Ex-Servicemen. There were more than 30 stalls comprising of Record Offices of the Indian Army, States Rajya Sainik Boards, Medical teams from Dental Corps, APS nodes, ECHS, AWES and CSD.
Referring to One Rank One Pension, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal congratulated  the Veteran and thanked the Prime Minister for conceding the principle of OROP and also implementing it in a time bound frame with the first installment being received by us this month.
The Executive Committee meeting was attended by senior vice president Brig SS Sambyal, members including Brig RL Sharma, Col KS Jamwal,    Col SA Qureshi, Lt Col DS Salaria, Lt Col KS Samyal, Hony Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib and Col Rajinder Singh.
