JAMMU, June 29: Maj General NS Jamwal, took over as the Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps, Jammu and Kashmir on retirement of Brig Thomas George, Deputy Director General NCC, who rendered 34 years of distinguished service.
The Officer was commissioned in the 9th Gorkha Rifles in Dec 1977 and since then has held numerous command, staff and instructional appointments. He commanded his company in the Batalik Sector, Battalion in Kargil and also a Rashtriya Rifles sector in Kashmir valley. The General Officer has also held a diplomatic assignment of Defence Attache with the High Commission of India, in Malaysia.
The General Officer is recipient of Vashisht Seva Medal, Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card and GOC-in-Commendation Card.
