REASI, June 9: An Army Major among five persons were critically wounded and his wife died after their car rammed into a truck near Katra while in another road accident, conductor of a minibus was killed and two passengers sustained injuries when the vehicle turned turtle at Laiter, Pouni, here today.
Reports said that Major Kartik (32), resident of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and presently posted at Akhnoor, along with his two minor sons, PSO and cook, was seriously injured while his wife Pooja (28) died on the spot when the car HP33D-4224, they were travelling in, rammed into rear side of a truck at Maghal, Katra, this afternoon.
The victim family was on way to Akhnoor after paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra when they met with the accident. Major Kartik among all the injured, identified as his sons Kayan (3) and Kiyush (2), his PSO Shreeshine, resident of Hyderabad and cook Ravinder Singh (32), son of Sohan Singh of Kuarti, Himachal Pradesh, were shifted to CHC Katra and then referred to Narayana Hospital Kakryal, Katra for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, in another road accident, one person was killed while two others got injured when a mini bus skidded off the road and turned turtle while taking a turn at Laiter Pouni, this evening.
The mini bus was going from Pouni to Bambla when it met with the accident. The deceased was identified as Rakesh Kumar (25), son of Bishan Dass of Garn Jagir, who was conductor of the minibus.
Two injured were identified as Surinder Kumar (65), son of Nikal Ram of Triyol and Rohan Puri (22), son of Bodh Raj of Laiter. They were admitted at CHC Pouni for treatment.
