JAMMU, May 7: Arnia police foiled major bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 40 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, a team from Arnia police station laid a naka and intercepted two persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and were arrested by the police. 40 bovine animals were rescued from their possession, which they were trying to smuggle.
The accused have been identified as Shak Din, son of Sain Dass of Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur and Talib Hussain, son of Gama of Malla-de-Kothey of Arnia.
A case under FIR Number 32/16 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Arnia police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
