Major bovines smuggling bids foiled; 70 cattle rescued, 5 arrested

RAMBAN, Mar 24: Police foiled major bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 70 cattle and arresting five persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Batote, Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, Police Station Ramsoo and Police Station Ramban laid nakas in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted six Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 68 bovine animals and arrested three persons, who were identified as Muzamil, son of Manzoor Ahmed of Kondrorian District Reasi, Mohammad Missar, son of Abdul Qayoom of Paloura, District Jammu and Mohd Imran, son of Mohd Hanief of Qazigund.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Neel rescued two bovine animals and arrested two persons, who were identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Ash Wani of Dooligam Banihal and Abdul Majeed, son of Alaf Din, both residents of Dooligam Banihal District Ramban.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Batote, Banihal, Ramsoo and Ramban and investigation started.
The rescue operations and arrests were made under the supervision of SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
