JAMMU, June 5: At least seven seized cars and over a dozen two-wheelers were completely gutted when a massive fire broke out in the premises of Police Station (PS) Satwari.
According to police sources, the fire broke out in an open area and caught hold of the seized vehicles around 1.50 am after an overhead power line snapped. The seized vehicles also caught fire resulting in huge flames which took over the entire police station. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot which brought the blaze under control and saved the police station building, sources said.

“It took almost an hour to put the fire under control. At least seven seized cars and over a dozen two-wheelers were completely gutted in the fire,” an official of the Fire and Emergency Department said. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. Also, no damage was reported to the Police Station building.
According to the preliminary investigation, the reason for the fire is said to be due to a short circuit, while confirmation is yet to arrive. Luckily, everyone present at the police station got out safe and no casualties were reported.
