Major fire breaks out in Rajouri JK Bank branch

RAJOURI, Nov 9: A major fire broke out due to suspected electrical short circuit in the Jammu & Kashmir Bank branch located at Gujjar Mandi in Rajouri city last night.
Official sources said that incident took place between 2 to 3 am on Thursday. Everything including computers, printers and other items and furniture kept in the savings section of the bank turned into ashes.
Station Incharge of Fire Brigade Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain said that at around 2:30 in the night, DSP Headquarters Rajouri Mudassar Hussain called that there was a fire in the Gujjar Mandi branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank. Immediately, without wasting any time, three fire fighting vehicles and men reached the spot and after a lot of efforts, brought the fire under control, but by then the computers, printers, some other electronic items and furniture kept in the savings section had turned into ashes.
He said due to the hard work of the fire fighting employees, the fire was not allowed to spread to other sections of the bank and nearby shops and houses.
After the fire incident in the bank branch, no work could be done on Thursday due to which the consumers had to face a lot of trouble. Consumers said that new computer systems should be installed as soon as possible so that normal work in the bank could be restored.
