SRINAGAR: A major fire broke out in a village in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, where so far over 10 structures, including eight residential houses, were gutted.
Official sources said that fire broke out in a residential house on Tuesday morning.
Fire tenders from different parts of the district and Army Agni Rakshak vehicles were rushed to the spot. However, before the fire tenders could reach there, fire had already spread to nearby structures.
They said efforts were being made to douse off the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance. “So far eight houses and two sheds were gutted in the fire,” they added.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or injury, they said adding the cause of fire was being ascertained. (AGENCIES)
