RAJOURI, Apr 18: A major fire incident in Kotranka market was averted with the timely and prompt action by a local Army unit.
Official sources said that Army unit at Samote, received an SOS call from an Ex-serviceman , Naib Sub Kabir Khan (Retd), an Electrical shop owner in Kotranka Market, about a massive fire incident near Sharma Sweet & Ice Cream Shop at Kotranka Market .
Fire Fighting team from the Unit immediately rushed to the incident site alongwith requisite fire fighting equipments and water bowser. The Army Fire fighting team quickly analysed the situation and were able to efficiently contain the fire along with the locals and GREF personnel, thereby preventing a colossal disaster.
Timely and coordinated action of all present helped in containing the fire and prevented its spread to nearby shops thus preventing a major catastrophe. The locals appreciated the timely assistance of the Army in extinguishing the fire without any loss of life.
