Major tragedy averted as LPG cylinder catches fire

JAMMU, Dec 25: A major tragedy was averted as a cylinder caught fire in a house at Prem Nagar here today.
Police spokesman said that, a woman was changing the regulator of the LGP cylinder, while cooking food. Her child instantly ignited a matchstick and the cylinder caught fire, he added.
The woman along with her three children rushed out of the house and raised alarm, he said.
On listening her screaming, neighbourers rushed to the spot and informed the Police and Fire and Emergency Services Department, he said.
On receiving information, police party from Gujjar Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot and fire tenders were pressed in to service to douse the flames, he added.
“Fire tenders along with the teams of fire fighters rushed to the spot to avoid any untoward incident”, he said, adding, that no injury or casualty in the incident has been reported.
The exact loss could not be ascertained immediately, while, a case has been registered and investigation is going on.
