Make exam centres for CUET 2024 locally: Sena

JAMMU, Nov 24: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded examination centres of Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2024 at State and district level and priority of admission to local students.
Shiv Sena J&K chief, Manish Sahni here today told reporters that local students should have the first right for admission in colleges and universities of their States and Union Territories including J&K.
“National Testing Agency should stop allotting examination centres for CUET examination for local students outside their State,” he said adding that in 2023 around 24,000 students of J&K got CUET exam centres in other States due to which they faced a lot of problems and hundreds of students could not even reached the examination centres.
He said that playing with future of students will not be tolerated.
“If our demands are not implemented then Shiv Sena will launch a mass movement,” the Shiv Sena maintained.
Those who were present on this occasion were Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Baskhi; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli; general secretary, G.I Singh; president Kamghar Wing, Raj Singh; secretary Youth, Rakesh Handa and Shashipal.
