RAMBAN, Mar 19: All Parties Joint Action Committee (APJAC) today took out a peaceful rally to express its resentment over the draft notification of Delimitation Commission.
The rally was attended by members of DDCs, BDCs, PRIs and also representative of NGOs. Showing their resentment, the participants said this draft notification has been prepared without taking into consideration the regional, geographical, social and political aspirations of the peoples of this region.
“Gool-Sangaldan Constituency should be made a new constituency which will not only go a long way for the socio-economic development of this most backward and hilly region in the entire J&K on the pattern of Padder but will also be in the larger interest of the common masses,” they emphasized.
The participants said Sub Division Gool used to be a constituency in the name of “55-Gool Arnas” has been snapped out of the list by the Delimitation Commission while Arnas area has been merged with Reasi district and Gool added in Banihal which is totally unjustified and has been rejected out rightly by the general public of the entire Subdivision Gool.
The leaders also demanded that the tehsil Pogal Paristan be not bifurcated. They said Pogal Paristan has 3 Patwar Halqas i.e Paristan, Pogal and Panchal. “While tehsil Pogal Paristan have been included in Ramban exculding Pogal PC, Pogal patwar circle which is in middle of tehsil Pogal Paristan has been included in Banihal Assembly,” they said while adding that by doing this, their identity has been dismembered.
