This has reference to the article ‘Make in India’ DE Sept 30.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ”Make in India” movement by saying that manufacturing is an opportunity waiting to be exploited.
There is great scope in the country for this intiative to take off provided proper business environment is created in the country. There is no dearth of talent in the country. We have best brains. But talented people often do not find right opportunities due to red tapism, nepotism and corruption. Besides, foreign businessmen find it difficult to set up their shops here due to inconsistency in Government policies.
The Modi Government should work overtime to make environment quite business friendly. Caution must be exercised while granting licences to businessmen.
The progress of the country should not be at the expense of our environment. Checks and balances are necessary for sustainable development.
