Make Kalakote coal mines functional: Jugal

JAMMU, Mar 24: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Jammu -Poonch Parliamentary constituency today raised the issue of Kalakote coal mine workers of district Rajouri in Lok Sabha and demanded to make Kalakote Coal mines functional and increase wages of workers working in it.
Jugal Kishore while speaking in Lok Sabha said that Kalakote area in district Rajouri has abundance of coal and the coal mines are not functioning resulting in detaching of labourers from coal mines back to their homes. He said that the labourers are not paid due to less extraction of coal from coal mines and they are leading a hand to mouth life. They are in miserable condition, he added.
He said that they were even paid very less for their labour and being told that the cost of extraction would not meet up their wages. Jugal Kishore urged the Minister for Coal to make coal mines at Kalakote in district Rajouri functional so that labourers can get sufficient wages to run their livelihood.
Pralhad Joshi, Minister for Coal assured the Member of Parliament that necessary steps would be taken to make Kalakote coal mines functional and the livelihood of labourers would be kept into consideration.
