JAMMU, Nov 2: Prof (Dr) P L Koul BJP State In charge Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan (SBA) J&K today said to ensure sustainability of Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus model status in rural villages is a challenging task and thus calls for , combined efforts of Government and people for its consistent and continued sanitation facilities including toilets and waste management system across the districts, blocks, Panchayats, door to door collection of waste initiation and efforts towards behavioral change, accountability and citizens participation so that Swachhta becomes a mass movement in the rural areas.
Addressing the intellectuals and prominent citizens here, today Dr Koul said it is a great achievements that J&K has declared all 6650 villages across the UT ODF Plus model status under SBM for which the LG and his team deserves applauds. It is a remarkable accomplishment and a significant milestone, he added.
He gave credit for launching the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and termed it a monumental step.
