Making quality education available to citizens is prime objective: Javadekar

BHOPAL:  Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar today said that the Centre’s chief goals include making quality education available to citizens.

“The Centre has a special focus on rural areas with regards to education. More than two-thirds of the country’s population dwell in villages. Serving the poor through education and their development are the Centre’s major aims,” said Mr Javadekar while addressing the Fifth Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research here.

On the occasion, Atomic Energy Commission’s former chairman Anil Kakodkar was conferred with honorary degree of DSc. Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Technical Education and Skill Development Deepak Joshi was also present. (agencies)
