JAMMU, Nov 30: An unidentified male body was found today here in front of Ranbireshwar Temple while another male body was found from Raipur-Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of an unidentified ‘Sadhu’ was found this morning along Shalamar Road in front of Ranbeshwar Temple. On getting information of the body from some passersby, police reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for identification.
A case in this connection has been registered at City police station and proceedings started under 174 CrPC.
Meanwhile, another dead body was found from a heap of sand in Raipur-Satwari area of city outskirts. The deceased has been identified as Akash Sharma (28) son of Satpal Sharma, a resident of Raipur-Satwari.
According to the police, the deceased was a habitual drunkard and late last in inebriated condition he fell on a heap of sand with his face down in the sand. Therefore there is every possibility that the man died due to asphyxiation.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and further investigations are underway.
